In my recent endeavor to obtain my CDL's and become a team driver with my husband there have been many obstacles for us that we have found ways to overcome. In doing my research for ways around our…

I wanted to post something on here that may be of help to a lot of the drivers out there that are owner/operators when it comes to fuel costs. I work for a company called Syntek and they produce a fu…

As you all may know, this free platform from ning will cease to exist on July 1, 2010. This has grown to be a great site for truckers to get to know each other. I am going to be moving to Pembroke Georgia soon to open a BBQ grill. I was expecting to cater to lots of truckers because they just built a 1500 acre industrial park near there at 280(?) and I-16.
They are planning anot

Just this week I watched another local trucking company close it's doors here in Minnesota, and the reason behind it was finances. They had an issue when their bank went out of business, forcing them to scramble to find a new financial institution. This would not normally be a problem for most companies but we are in the trucking industry which is looked at in a whole different light. This company had talked to other banks and everything was progressing smoothly until they said they were a tr

Lately I have been receiving messages in my email asking my opinion on certain political issues that are affecting our country and it's citizens. I just want to make it very clear that unless it pertains directly to the trucking industry, I will not be discussing it here. I strongly encourage all people to be actively involved in our political and legal practices in this country, however as a contributing author to this site I also think it would detract from the goals we are trying to accomp

well,i have an answer to all the wannabes out there who think that there was such a bad element in trucking before, this made me laugh so hard at first, then made me think and wonder what this industry has come to.there are so many good drivers out of work now,not because they were dangerous, not because they tore up equipment,or caused loads to have a service failure, but because they were either old or knew how to "manage"a truck and their time on a logbook and thereby, ran circles around their

I was doing a Google search this afternoon on my ham callsign, K3VSA, and I saw my name posted on your website's section about Amateur Radio. I've had the pleasure of talking with several truckers from the Greensboro NC area on one of the area's FM repeaters, and I just want to say "thanks" for the great service you all do in making America work by getting stuff from point "A" to point "B" every day.
For those among you who might not know, a "repeater" is a remote station, usua

Hello again folks,
I just wanted to let you all know that American Trucking Network's blog radio show will be getting underway soon. We are however getting everything together to make the first show as informative as we can for you, the listeners. If you

Well the spring weather is arriving throughout most of the country, and during the winter months I'm sure that all of us can say that we neglected to do some regular maintenance on our trucks or ourselves. Being that the warmer weather is here it's the perfect time to address some of those issues, let's start with the truck first.
Winter weather is pretty harsh on equipment especially if you drive in an area that uses salt on

Even though I have to leave for Atlanta on Monday (April 12th), I felt it necessary to practice using a friend's truck today (April 10th). My leg seems to have forgotten what I need from it. (lol) It started cramping up and I started getting frustrated with my *lack* of backing ability, so I got away from it until tomorrow. Then I'll go back and do it again.
I get lost on the wheel and when I get frustrated, it all goes downhill from there. So I gotta remember to *not* think too deep i
